Hi,
After an extremely hot summer that I have to admit, did slow us down a bit, we’re back at it. We had a great time Friday at The Edge last night after Paul and Louella joined me at my Jazz Thursday show. Next Friday, September 2, we will be playing at Bella’z Restuarant from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
And we’re all bringing in new material. It’s so much fun learning new stuff, swapping leads on songs we’ve never played before. Like spontaneous combustion.
I did post my Jazz Thursday show and we’re moving some of these new songs into the Swing Band Project repertoire.

I have a show recorded at KASU’s Bebopalooza! that played Saturday, June 18, at 10:00 PM. Hear Something Blue on KASU, 91.9 FM, in the Delta and streaming on the internet at http://kasu.org.
The Swing Band Project backed up Essie The Blues Lady. Featured on Something Blue are the Blues classics, “The Thrill Is Gone” and “Feel Like Breaking Up Somebody’s Home”.
Then we ended the show with a set called Jamming with The Swing Band Project. I always like to end Bebopalooza! with a jam session where our friends can join in on the great music. Featured on Something Blue The Fabulous Louella sings “Autumn Leaves” and George sings “Summer Wind”.
Also on the show The Ad Hoc Combo did “Blue Monk” and “All Of Me” and Astate Delta Vox sang “This Masquerade” and “Route 66″.
We all enjoyed the festival and it made for a great show.
Coming up this Saturday, June 25, The Jess Hoggard Band plus Sonny Burgess and The Legendary Pacers recorded at the Delta Blues Symposium.

We played at The Edge last night and I invited Essie The Blues Lady to play with us. It was a great time and the music was fantastic. When Essie sings she owns the stage. We all loved playing with her and we are looking forward to backing her up at Bebopalooza!, also at The Edge, on April 23 at 2:00 pm.
